Buffalo Tom’s Bill Janovitz catches up with Kyle Meredith to talk about the band’s new album, Jump Rope. Listen to the new episode above, and don’t forget to like, review, and subscribe to KMW wherever you get your podcasts.

The singer and guitarist discusses what it takes to get the band back to the studio over 35 years into their career. Janovitz also speaks on why the record is more acoustic-driven and the ’60s feel that came as a byproduct, as well as the political undercurrents behind the lead single, “Helmet.”

After touching on how comedy tends to age much more poorly than music, Janovitz goes on to talk about his biographical work. He touches on his 2023 Leon Russell biography and whether or not it impacted his own music, and gives insight into his current work about The Cars. “I’m dealing with the three surviving members, which is very different from writing a biography of someone who’s passed,” he explains.
